The Team
Dr. Eric Otero PT, DPT, OCS, ATC, CSCS, Cert. DN, Cert. SMT
Dr. Eric Otero is South Florida’s leading physical therapist who provides quality, safe, and cost-effective services to athletes and patients of all levels.
Dr. Otero founded Pinnacle Movement and Performance with the vision of helping active adults and athletes get back to the workouts/sports with the quality of care they deserve. The current healthcare system focuses on quantity or how many patients can be seen in a day versus how well are the services being rendered to the clients.
The needs of someone who is an active adult are much different than that of everyone else and simply “resting or stopping what you are doing”, is not a good enough answer. Our bodies are complex, and they deserve to be met with the attention to get down to the root causes of issues.
Having experience with professional and recreational athletes, Eric knows in order to get back to the things you love most and perform to the highest level as an athlete it takes someone who is dedicated to you. This is what Dr. Eric Otero firmly believes and what drives his practice with the client being his top priority.
Dr. Eric received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University and his Bachelor’s in Athletic Training from the University of Central Florida. Throughout Dr. Otero’s career, he has had the opportunity to work with many athletes/teams including the University of Maryland’s track and field team, Olympic athletes, and the USSSA Pride Professional softball team. After graduation, he completed another rigorous program consisting of various continued education courses on advanced knowledge of the spine and extremity where he successfully passed a series of practical , written and oral exams from the University of Saint Augustine granting him the Manual Therapy Certification (MTC). He then pursued an additional post graduate degree, this time from the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy, where Dr. Picado took various courses and passed several exams which tested his knowledge and skills in spinal thrust manipulation granting him the spinal manipulation certification (cert-SMT).

An osteopractor is a physical therapist who has completed an evidence-based, post-graduate training program in the use of spinal and high-velocity low-amplitude thrust manipulation, dry needling, instrument-assisted manual therapies, and differential diagnostics for the management of neuromusculoskeletal conditions.
Osteopractic physical therapy is an approach to care, a sub-specialty within physical therapy, and more accurately describes the kind of physical therapy services (rather than simply “physical therapy”) offered so the public, potential patients and colleagues alike, can identify the appropriate practitioner of choice for the condition in question. When you break a bone, you look for an orthopedist, not just a general medical doctor. When your child needs medical care, you look for a pediatrician, not just a general medical doctor. Likewise, when you have neck pain, low back pain, headaches, tennis elbow, heel pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, knee osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis, shoulder impingement, or joint pain etc., it makes sense to look for a specialist within physical therapy, that is specifically trained and has advanced post-graduate qualifications to treat neuromusculoskeletal conditions. One of these specialties is osteopractic physical therapy.
